Meeple Night
January 2026Meeple Night is a full-stack web application developed using the Next.js framework with React handling the declarative user interface, focusing entirely on professionalizing the planning and execution of board game sessions. The core infrastructure relies on seamless, secure integration with the BoardGameGeek (BGG) API, allowing users to automatically and comprehensively synchronize their entire game collection, along with personal ratings, play time statistics, and comprehensive play history. The application's value proposition is driven by two distinct, powerful systems. Firstly, Optimized Session Planning is executed by a in-house algorithm. Upon session creation and attendee confirmation, this algorithm processes critical constraints—including the confirmed player count, the host's complete game library, the user-defined time window, and the group's specific game preferences—to generate an optimized, conflict-free lineup of suggested games, maximizing efficiency and player satisfaction. Secondly, an integrated Large Language Model (LLM) acts as a Real-Time Session Assistant. This LLM is used not for planning but as an interactive, conversational resource during the actual game night, allowing players to instantly query for complex rules clarification, resolve situational edge cases quickly, or explore detailed lore and strategies, ultimately enhancing the flow and enjoyment of the gameplay experience. This dual-system architecture establishes Meeple Night as a comprehensive, end-to-end solution that effectively addresses both the logistical hurdles of planning and the in-session support needs of the board gaming community.
